I have been very troubled by the idea of closing a school that has been so successful.
I think a lot of it will fly with the board. There's a much higher level of awareness than there was three or four years ago. It's a good start.
We had to get more formal . . . and more transparent. It's not only that we do it well but also that people see it as well.
A lot of it has tremendous potential. Just the conversation is raising awareness. It goes far beyond student nutrition. It's about the whole child.
I don't know if we really have a choice when we have that many schools under capacity and we have real needs.
We just can't sit around twiddling our thumbs. We don't have a choice. We have to build schools for children.
The blessing is that they have a lot of friends.
