We're going to give it a new friend.
We knew we were facing a team that would be very aggressive and present us some challenges. Our challenge was keeping their dribblers in front of us. I thought we did a pretty gosh darn good job.
We pride ourselves on how well we play defense.
Our game plan going in was to keep Ashley Henderson under control. I thought we were able to do that in the first quarter or so, and it was the biggest key to us starting the way we did. But, in that second half, we broke down on defense a little, especially in guarding Henderson.
We knew we needed to keep her under control and keep her in front of us. She brings a lot to the table, and her ball speed with the dribble creates challenges as far as getting back on defense -- and even in the half court where we're helping out -- and she's a challenging player.
Our quickness on defense caused them problems. We're playing our best basketball right now.
She fits right in. Her height (5-foot, 9 inches) and her ability were the perfect fit for this team.
