Miguel has been very good for us. When we've called on him this year, he has been very productive. He's getting better for us each time out. We could use him as a starter down the road as well.
I expect to see some good games. We have come a long way to this point in our season and Silver has not been in the playoffs for a couple of years.
It's a rivalry all right. This is a three-team race and you don't want to get left behind early and have to depend on someone else to get you back in it.
Our seniors have been playing hard and now we are starting to see our younger players step up and produce. We have moved people around to get a strong hitting lineup without sacrificing our defense. I think the players are getting comfortable with that.
We have made some changes in our defense without sacrificing for offense. It's been kind of blessing for us, because now we have some competition with the bottom half of our batting order. Our kids know that we intend on putting our best nine players on the diamond.
Our offense kept us in the game. We got just enough hits and it was a big win for us. We just got five guys back from basketball, three of which are regulars. We came out strong and we stayed in the game against a good club.
Overall it's been a surprise, so far. We went 2-1 at a Clovis tournament with some players out of position, junior varsity players who have stepped up and most of our pitching still playing basketball.
