In a long series, they're going to wear down all our old guys. I think our young guys can handle a long series. You look around at every playoff series, they're not decided in three games and they're usually not decided in four games. Not for a minute do I think a long series will hurt our team.
It's north and south pole. When you win you feel great, but when you lose it, it's like you've lost 10 games in a row.
We've got a great group of guys here that have worked extremely hard in the first 43 games. We just want to build on it.
He's probably the most all-around gifted player I've been around.
It is a big game and it would be a big win for us. The message is, we've got to give them the biggest battle we can give them.
You see it day in and day out. You may even see a little bit more focus and just talk about the little things, the good habits. You look at his play, he's been scoring big goals for us and killing penalties. And I think if you're going to talk it, you have to lead it. He's done both.
That line just grabbed the bull by the horns. They could have had four or five goals in the second period.
We played a good third period. We probably had five or six real good chances when we had them on their heels, we had some great opportunities.
J.P.'s looking real good. I like the way he's skating. We're going to start pushing him harder and harder, get him involved in more stuff.
We expected to be a good team, but nobody expects something like this.
Suspend him. Get him out of the game. He went after his head. He took his knee out. I've seen enough of him. It's a joke.
When you see a guy hit his head that hard, you're worried about one thing a concussion. But he had nothing along that line.
We're concerned. The first thing is his health.
I want him suspended. I want him fined. I'll go to the hearing if I have to.
We want to go into the playoffs on a little bit of a run. We don't want to be going in playing sloppy hockey, getting careless, and losing games.
Big sense of relief. In these games the hockey gods have to be with you. You have to get a few bounces.
It was awesome. He talked about how he loves sports and going to hockey games. He thinks it's a great game in person.
His foot was swelled up and we just decided to keep him off. We hope not, but I guess that's a possibility, and in that case we may have to utilize seven defensemen or bring somebody up.
Our opponent who is coming in here next has been very tough on us. We're going to rebound. Is it going to be Friday I hope, but that's a monumental task against a team that's been going really well.
I think we're going to rebound. Will it be Friday I hope, but it's a monumental task against a team that's going really well.
These dogs just don't quit hunting.
When you're going after somebody's head, you've got intent to hurt. Don't tell me the knee is accidental after that. He knew exactly what he was doing, and should pay a price for it.
We've warned our guys. He's a guy that you can burn, but he can hurt you if you don't have your wits about you when he's on the ice because he's going to come running, and if you're not ready for it . . . I've seen some tremendous hits out of him this year.
He had a racing heartbeat. I'm not going to hide that. It wasn't anything physical in terms of an injury. It's something that he's had before and dealt with it.
It's based on what they've brought to our team their leadership work ethic on and off the ice the respect of their teammates,
