I think he did a great job. We had a lot of inconsistencies the first half of the year, and to win as many games as we did says a lot about his managerial skills.
I know that. The games I'm here to win are the postseason games.
It was just one of those games. They're going to happen.
I've pitched some good games this year where I haven't been that animated, that locked in,
I've pitched some pretty meaningful games, and some games where if we lose, we're done, ... That wasn't the case, but it would have been more difficult. We're three games back right now. It's not insurmountable.
What's impressive is their starting pitching. You give up three runs to a team like ours, that's impressive. Obviously they've played us well, but they've played other teams well.
That's probably more than I wanted to throw in four innings. But the velocity on my fastball increased, and that's a good sign. My mechanics were a little better, too.
I was able to get my pitches in and didn't have to extend myself, which is nice. I was just glad that it didn't get postponed. I warmed up and I warmed up good.
I'm glad it wasn't rained out. I had warmed up, and warmed up good.
I'm 4-0 against Boston and 0-1 against Tampa. It kind of makes you scratch your head.
Obviously, it's a nice honor, but there's a lot of work between now and then.
I think it's a great idea, but I also like pre-kindergarten.
I think you see not a sense of urgency, but a little more importance on every game. I suspect it will be that way the rest of the year.
The results will be higher income and property tax.
The innings and pitches that are going to be mostly counted on are late in the year.
He's a throwback pitcher from the day. The game's changed quite a bit since then, but I can still learn. If you think you know everything that's when you'll be sadly mistaken. If I can take some input that he has and apply it towards what I'm doing out there and use it, then that's a good thing.
I'm tired of people questioning me because of my age. If you looked at my numbers and watched me throw and covered my birthdate, would age be an issue
When you can throw 97 miles an hour and put the ball over the plate anytime you want, it's fun.
I learned a lot from not having success, and realizing when you do have success, how hard it is to maintain it, and what you have to do to maintain it.
When you win, you want more of it. You can't win enough.
I threw a lot of balls and walked a lot of batters. Not something I'm proud of, but something I learned from.
Honestly, I've never thought much about that. It's nice to know. Maybe we should start the season in September next year.
Everybody thought I'd be the first one to break down in this rotation, and I was the one who was the most stable.
It took me a long time to really find my mechanics, ... But that's the pitcher everybody expected, and that's the pitcher I expected.
I may do it again one more time,
