Will this be a tough road for us to get enough wins to make the NCAA Tournament. Yes, it will, but I really like the way we are playing right now. We've told the seven freshmen, this is why you play. For the chance to do something special in your tournament. We have a second chance and I intend on making the most of it.
Sometimes I get frustrated really fast so I have to learn to be positive and not get frustrated so fast. (Against Connecticut) I was really frustrated (early) but then I knew that everybody looks up to me and looks to me to make plays and get everybody going, so I was just trying to be positive the whole game. It worked, so I just have to keep getting better at that.
I hope we have a chance to play back-to-back-to back games. Our freshmen need to experience that and know how hard we've got to work this week in order to accomplish our goal of making it to the NCAA Tournament. The best thing is, we ARE getting better and better every day. I hope we have the chance to show that for a lot of games here.
Building team chemistry was the most important thing we did this summer. We really didn't do too much socializing off-campus, because after we finished playing each night, we would get home around 830 or so and everyone was really tired. But, some of the freshmen have come over to my house and I've cooked dinner for them.
Given the situation Tiffany was put into this year, she's done a great job handling the pressure of sharing her knowledge and experience with the freshmen. One of Tiffany's strengths is that she follows up her words with the way she plays she's a great leader by example and we all see from Tiffany that hard work really does lead to being a great basketball player.
