When I came in last January, I brought a strength and conditioning program with me. And when I brought that program, April was one of the main people that I thought of. I knew that she always had that sheer talent and she always had that drive, but I knew that she could take the game to another level if she could get stronger physically. I'm not saying she wasn't good before, because she was very good. I just thought that the workouts would help her.
She never lets anything get to her. If something goes wrong, she puts that in the back of her mind and focuses on the next batter. She's really unbelievable. She's not going to blow you away as a pitcher. She's more of a finesse pitcher. But she's a smart pitcher and she's not going to lose. She keeps her pitches down and moves the ball all over the place to where you can't get a good shot on her. She's fun to watch out there.
