In the United States today, we have more than our share of the nattering nabobs of negativism. They have formed their own 4-H Club-the “hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history.”
People deal too much with the negative, with what is wrong. Why not try and see positive things, to just touch those things and make them bloom?
Dwelling on the negative simply contributes to its power.
Positive thoughts (joy, happiness, fulfillment, achievement, worthiness) have positive results (enthusiasm, calm, well-being, ease, energy, love). Negative thoughts (judgment, unworthiness, mistrust, resentment, fear) produce negative results (tension, anxiety, alienation, anger, fatigue).
For many, negative thinking is a habit, which over time, becomes an addiction. It’s a disease, like alcoholism, compulsive overeating, or drug abuse. A lot of people suffer from this disease because negative thinking is addictive to each of the Big Three – the mind, the body, and the emotions. If one doesn’t get you, […]
I just need somewhere to dump all my negativity.
Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.
We have no more right to put our discordant states of mind into the lives of those around us and rob them of their sunshine and brightness then we have to enter their houses and steal their silverware.
When experiencing something that seems to be negative, take a step back and reevaluate the circumstance. Learn from it rather than waste the lesson by feeling sorry that it happened in the first place.
