You can’t hold a man down without staying with him.
Up one side and down the other.
What goes down usually comes up.
What goes up must come down.
No matter how high a feather goes up, it must come down.
No matter how big a nation is, it is no stronger that its weakest people, and as long as you keep a person down, some part of you has to be down there to hold him down, so it means you cannot soar as you might otherwise.
Never pick up a heavy box unless you know where you’re going to put it down.
Do not keep saying to yourself, if you can possible avoid it, “But how can it be like that?” because you will get down the drain, into a blind alley from which nobody has yet escaped. Nobody knows how it can be like that.
The way up and the way down are one and the same.
Whatever is not nailed down is mine. What I can pry loose is not nailed down.
